Developing and designing...

Updated: Apr 26, 2020

I have continued to explore different ideas for my FMP. I had an idea of creating a poster that is an instagram image, as instagram is easily recognisable by all young people, which would include facial expressions and wording that would catch the attention of young people who use instagram and who could identify with the expressions and the description of feelings inlcuded in the text below. I then asked my mate James, if I could use one of his images from his instagram account. I took a copy of his image from instagram and printed it out, I then altered the printout by drawing a copy of the image, and experimenting with different facial expressions.

After doing this I copied the images into photoshop where I will experiment with editing and manipulating the image of James by trying to create a pop art/marvel magazine effect, changing colours where necessary and altering the facial expression of James. I am thinking of splitting the image in half with one half of his face smiling and one half shadowed and mouth turned down and then adding wording to the effect of how negative social media impacts young people.

I am going to concentrate on the effects of cyberbullying and haters specifically. Cyberbullying is a form of harassment that takes online through smartphones, tablets etc. and also on many social networking sites such as instagram and snapchat. Most young people will either see it or experience it at some point. Cyberbulling can happen at anytime and continuously. It takes many forms e.g. making up fake information about someone that is damaging and untrue. sharing photos of an individual that wouldn't want them posted or worse altering the photo to ridicule the person. Exclusion, this is when someone is intentionally left out of a group, this is one of the more common forms of social bullying. I am going to think of some wording to use to capture the above themes and let others know that they are not alone in their experiences.
