Developing and designing...

Following on from the last poster idea involving my friend Santiago, I decided to stay on the theme of an individual center of a poster showing obvious signs of distress with a view to adding wording to the poster that relfects the hurt experienced specfically by the effects of cyber bullying and hate comments posted by other users online. Below I have got as far as designing the poster but I haven't added any wording as I have decided I don't want to use this piece as my FMP as I prefer the Instagram image that I created previously which is an image of my friends face that I have manipulated to show one half of his face happy and the other sad. I created the image below by free drawing part of an image that I saw online which gave me the whole idea and I liked the pop art effect that I thought I could create using this image.

Having free drawn this image, I then scanned the drawing into photoshop from there on I could edit and manipulate the image as to how I wanted it to look, adding colour changing some part of the features in proportion and size and also adding shading where necessary. I also added a bakground which you can see from the screenshots below.

After thinking about whether to use this idea as my poster or not, I decided that I didnt want to use this design as I feel that young people that would see this image wouldn't necessarily be able to identify with the pop art image, I feel that the image is maybe too dated and looks more like one of the characters out of 'Who Framed Roger Rabbit' so therefore not really appropiate for the age group that I am aiming at.

I think the instagram poster I posted previously is definetly 'a look', that my age group will identify with, so therefore I will now work on refining ths is poster and updating the wording that I have used to convey the message that cyber bullying and haters, causes distress and that sufferes are not alone, there are other people experiencing the same thing and they need to know this.
