Experimentation

Leaflet/Poster Ideas

I've started to think about a leaflet or poster design that will grab young people's attention initially and then wording that should help them to not feel alone if they are experiencing negative feelings from their interaction with social media. The idea above is a young person who appears to reach out from the laptop screen, reaching out in despair, desperate for help. He has one tear dropping from his eye and I've jotted down on the page above ideas of wording that I may include on the poster e.g.

'Likes aren't important, love is', and 'Don't worry, be happy', 'Don't sweat it out, talk it out'

Above I've been developing ideas of a sad individual who is an image on an iphone, I've tried creating popart images of individuals as that's my favourite form of art and I think this would appeal young to people, cartoon effects usually go down well with teenagers.

Here I have continued to develop an image that would be central in a poster or leaflet. I've experimented with faces, just part of a face and also adapted the instagram logo, by replacing the camera in the middle of the logo with the image of a closed eye with a tear coming out. I particulary like the face with the flames coming out of his head, I like the sort of 'pokemon' effect of this image. On the next page I've experimented with a GIF, in which an image of a person's head is smiling but then as the image moves, the expression changes to sadness, with wording along the lines of 'this is how I look, but not how I feel'. I'm looking into how I can create my own GIF as I like this idea.

Bottom right, I was thinking about the idea of a mask, so happy face and then mask comes off on the next page of the leaflet with a sad face, representing how some people feel online, hiding the emotion that lies inside.
